The backround music is programmed to begin when you enter the site. If you prefer to view the galleries in peace and quiet you can do one of two things.

You can simply turn the volume control on your computer down until you can't hear the music.

Or you can click on the Music button in the upper left hand corner. A small window will open where you can control the volume or turn the music off. Simply move your cursor over the speaker symbol in the small window. A panel of control symbols will slide in. To turn the music off completely, click on the "square". To adjust the volume, Click and hold your cursor on the bar to the left of the speaker symbol moving you cursor to the left to decrease the volume and to the right to increase it.

If you leave the site and reenter, the music will return and you will have to repeat this process each time you enter.

As for the remainder of your peace and quiet, put the kids to bed.
